  • Talented Musicians Take the Stage at Henry for Music's ''Joy Through Music'' Concert

    Henry County Fine Arts Department and Henry for Music Team Up for Student Music Education Event

    HENRY COUNTY - Jan. 8, 2023 -  Henry for Music, Inc. is excited to announce the Fourth District Wide Student Event, the 2nd of the school year, "Joy Through Music - A Music Education Concert," taking place on January 24, 2023 at the Fairview PAC. This inspirational educational concert experience will feature talented musicians Jez Graham on piano, Kevin Arney on trombone, and Brooke Alford on violin, as well as members from Henry For Music’s Youth Orchestra United. The morning field trip event is expected to attract approximately 1,000 students from the Henry County School District.

    Jez Graham can be heard playing piano at Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Concourse A every Friday right by Varasono's and at the Piano Bar every Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday on Concourse E. He’s a prolific Singer-Songwriter and Arranger. Kevin Arney, a graduate of the University of Miami's School of Music Studio Music and Jazz program, has toured on cruiseship. He now composes and plays with the Henry Players, The Front Porch Players and local Big Band and Salsa music groups. Brooke Alford, The Artist of the Violin an R&B/Soul Jazz Charting Artist, Smooth Jazz Network 2022 Breakout Artist Nominee, Recording Academy Voting Member, and 2022 Marquis Who’s Who Biographical Listee and is an instructor in Henry For Music After school classes.

    But that's not all! Henry for Music, Inc. promotes music education and provides learning opportunities for students to gain inspiration from professional musicians. “That's why we've partnered with the Henry County Fine Arts Department to bring this exciting event to our community and why we've made it our mission to ensure that all students have access to instruments and can participate in the joy of music,” says CEO and Founder, Jerry Hesselink.

    Henry for Music partners with local and national music stores and organizations to manage and maintain an inventory of donated musical instruments. Jerry added, “We then coordinate with County Elementary, Middle Schools, High Schools, and Community Centers to place the newly-restored instruments into the hands of Student Musicians.” Henry for Music, Inc. eases financial barriers that may prevent students from participating in music programs.
