    SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE:
    This temporary part-time Research and Policy Analysis Associate – Student Worker is responsible for completing assigned tasks and work assignments related to Teacher Workforce research and policy analysis. (Approximately 20 hour per week.)
     
    What will the Temporary PT Research and Policy Analysis Associate – Student Worker do?
     
    WORK STATEMENTS:

    • Accurately collect, record (in Excel) and clean available public data on the teacher workforce.
    • Assist with replicating or improving data visualizations for the teacher workforce data.
    • Accurately collect, record (in Excel) and clean available public data on teacher compensation.
    • Accurately collect, record (in Excel) and clean sample district-level teacher compensation data for a sample urban, suburban and rural district in one or more SREB states. Assist with brainstorming and/or creating data visualizations for this new data.
    • Complete state policy landscape scans on relevant teacher preparation, licensure, compensation and support policies for 3 SREB grant partner states
    • Assist external researchers with research preparation and/or data collection for two new research projects: How states can better recruit and prepare Gen Z teachers; and How Covid-19 impacted teaching and the distribution of teaching talent in the South.
