2021 Henry County Bicentennial: Celebrating 200 Years
Speaker: Gene Morris, Henry County Historian
Mr. Gene Morris, Jr. is a Henry County native and earned his history degree at Shorter University in Rome Georgia. In 1992, he accepted the official, but unpaid, position of Henry County Historian. In 2000, he published True Southerners: a Pictorial History of Henry County Georgia. He continues to collect, research, and write local history and shares it with others.
The year 2021 brings a monumental moment in the life of Henry County—The Henry County Bicentennial celebration. We are excited to commemorate our 200 years of achievement. Over the course of 2021, we will be celebrating Henry County’s amazing impact on society, and the people who helped shape the community we are today. Gene will speak on this celebration as well as the amazing history and significance of Henry County.
The goal is to create a bicentennial committee to coordinate the efforts of various groups.
