Henry County Schools Launches Community Leadership Academy

I am writing to let you know about an exciting new opportunity that the Henry County Board of Education will be offering this year.
 
As you know, community engagement is vital to the work of our district. Perhaps you have even participated in some of the community forums or community conversations that we have held in the past. From each of these experiences, it is clear that our community desires to know more and learn more about our district. In response to what we have learned over the past years, we will be launching the Henry County Community Leadership Academy this fall. The 8-month program is designed to educate the community on the inner-workings of our school system because we believe that a well-informed community helps to advance the work and direction of our district.
 
The Experience:
Beginning in October, 2023, Academy participants will engage in one workshop per month where they will learn about various topics including Finance, Operations, Academics, and Student Support Services – among other things. The 2-hour workshops will be primarily facilitated by senior staff members and will be held at various locations throughout the district.
 
How to Apply:
Interested applicants may apply directly from the Henry County School website. They also must 1) Be a Henry County resident 2) Have an expressed interest in developing deeper knowledge about Henry County Schools 3) Commit to attending no less than 5 scheduled program sessions, 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., October 2023 – March, 2024.
