Starting in 2014 in California, the Independent Bookstore Day combines books, readers, authors, and indie bookselling with food, fun, and activities. This day offers a great opportunity for the community to come together, connect with other companies/vendors, and help spread literacy across the world.

Indie book stores are more than cozy corners in your neighborhood. We are invested in them because your backyard is our backyard too. Our stores are owned by individuals committed to growing each community one book at a time. At Birdsong Books, we offer fresh coffee and conversation creating a comfortable literary destination for our patrons without leaving Henry County. Birdsong Books is proud to host its inaugural Independent Bookstore Day, held on April 30, 2022, which is a nationwide event to support small independent (indie) bookstores.

How to get involved?
We are reaching out to request sponsorship for this special event. We have several ways of supporting this mission. Donations are used towards food for the event, activities, raffles, and more.
