There's A New Chief in Town! : City of McDonough Appoints Acting Police Chief
MCDONOUGH, GEORGIA – June 15, 2020 – At the City Council Meeting held on Monday, June 15, 2020, Ken Noble was appointed as the Acting Police Chief for the City of McDonough by a unanimous vote of Mayor and Council.
“Acting Chief Noble has shown tremendous leadership during his service with our Police Department and I am confident that our community will be even better in the future due to the compassion and commitment he displays,” commented Mayor Billy Copeland.
Noble has served with the City of McDonough Police Department for twenty years, rising through the ranks from Patrol Officer to Patrol Corporal, Detective, Detective Sergeant, and finally to the rank of Major as Division Commander of the Uniform Patrol Division.
“My dedication to law enforcement can be attributed to the values engrained in me during childhood and strengthened during my service in the 82nd Airborne Division,” Noble said. “I have a strong sense of integrity and believe that our community is a great asset and we must treat it as such, showing respect for each and every person we interact with.”
Noble has a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Psychology from Liberty University, is qualified as a Criminal and Internal Affairs Investigator, and holds the following certifications from the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council: Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, Supervisory, and Management certifications.
