HENRY COUNTY, GA- November 19, 2019—
Connecting Henry hosted its last Community Collaborative Meeting of the year last week at Heritage Park in McDonough.
Five guest speakers including Co-CEO Jimiyu Evans with Project Community Connections, Inc. (PCCI), Family and Support Director Donna Johnson with Childcare and Parent Services (CAPS), Henry County Schools Family Services Director April Brown, United Way Southeast Regional Director Shane Persaud, GoodWill Industries Career Coach Temeka Minor, and WellCare Senior Community Relations Specialist Anthony Hill all took part in a panel discussion sharing with the audience ways to empower Henry County families and encourage self-sufficiency.
The panelists shared their insight from their perspective roles on how to overcome obstacles like homelessness and financial challenges as well as shared educational and training opportunities and other support services that can positively impact the lives of those families who may be in need.
The next meeting will be held on January 28, 2020 at Shiloh Baptist Church's Education Building. The time will be determined at a later date.
