    MAJOR FUNCTION:
     
    1.  Use the standard industry practices to keep everyone safe on the job
    2. Evaluate the environmental, health and safety protocols for all employees to be followed
    3. Organize safety training for employees and report problems to management T
    4. Have experience in the manufacturing industry (particularly mattress process) and understand the specific safety issues inherent to manufacturing sites
    5. Includes significant field work and monitoring for all aspects of environmental, health and safety compliances to the law (OSHA, Environmental EPA and CDC) and regulations
     
    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
     
    1. Conduct safety audits on personnel, equipment and materials
    2. Evaluate, assess and alter safety procedures and policies for the benefit of employees and clients
    3. Research and implement new materials handling processes
    4. Analyze accident reports and evaluate injury case studies based on available facts
    5. Prepare and conduct safety training sessions for employees and vendors or contractors
    6. Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies and standards (including OSHA, EPA, etc.)
    7. Research environmental regulations and policies and institute changes to ensure compliance
    8. Track incident metrics and apply findings
    9. Oversee the applications for and receipt of necessary permits
    10. Lead injury and incident inquiries and evaluations
     
    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1. Assumes other duties as assigned by Director.
    PREREQUISITES FOR THE JOB:
    1. Bachelor's degree required (preferably in environmental health and safety)
    2. 6+ years' experience in the manufacturing industry as management role and preferred in the mattress manufacturing at least 3  year management role
    3. Knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards with regard to manufacturing and qualified certification preferred
    4. Ability to train, influence and motivate team members
    5. Strong leadership with great communication skills

    Organizational Relationships:
    1. Accountable to the Director for all phases of activities.
    2. Close coordination with HR Planning Asst. manager, HR Asst. manager and leadership with immediate staffs like safety specialist, general affairs asst. manager for all phases of their activities
    3. Advises, consults, and coordinates with:
      1. HR/EHS/GA Director: effective management of all general functions and tasks
      2. Middle Management and Supervisors: as needed
