SBDC is coming to HCCC to offer expert guidance to small businesses

SBDC GUIDANCE LEADS VETERAN-OWNED BUSINESS TO LARGER CONTRACTS

This headline leads to an interesting SBDC success story. Click here to read. The article gives a clear understanding of how the UGA Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Clayton State University is helping businesses in the region and how good they are at what they do. Explore their web site further and you'll find many more success stories like this. A total of 75% of the businesses that receive consulting services from SBDC are existing businesses. Most have been in business for at least a year or two and have two or more employees. They offer on-site classes for large and small businesses and this year they began looking for ways to offer their services to start-ups and entrepreneurs who are in the early stages of organizing their businesses or even to those who have not yet launched.
A study of the results of the recent Chamber membership survey reveals there's a need for more specialized guidance and support for small businesses in Henry County. Naturally, we turned to the SBDC, our existing partner and expert resource for small business guidance with a proven track record of success. We were so delighted to learn about their Drop-in Day initiative and immediately invited them to offer the service here at the Henry County Chamber of Commerce. We are happy to report that every 3rd Monday on a monthly basis starting on September 16, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM, SBDC will provide small business coaching assistance to help new businesses start with confidence. If you are a small business owner, a start-up or an entrepreneur with just an idea – all are welcome to stop by for a face-to-face consultation with the experts from SBDC.
