Chamber Names Business of the Year 2019 – 15th Street Pizza & Pub

    2019 Business of the Year

Recognizes a business that stands out among peers in the business community as a leading organization both in its approach to business and in service to the community. The recipient should demonstrate excellence in overall business operation, including customer service, employee development/relations, site aesthetics, marketing, integrity, innovation and community contribution. The recipient must be a member in good standing of the Henry County Chamber of Commerce and operational for a minimum of three years.

The Business of the Year 2019 is 15th Street Pizza & Pub owned by Patrick, Katie, and Dennis McHugh. Patrick, Katie, and Dennis are the type of small business that makes a community proud. Walk into their restaurant during lunch or dinner, and you'll find a melting pot of people enjoying great food in a relaxed atmosphere. Servers know their customers by name, Patrick and Katie are usually seen bussing tables or getting drink orders, and everyone that walks in the door feel welcome. But beyond being the best pizza in town, Patrick, Katie, and Dennis McHugh quietly support their community in countless ways. As an active member of the Chamber, Conventions & Visitors Bureau (CVB) board and past Leadership Henry board member, Patrick lends his business expertise and leadership skills whenever called upon. He is the first to volunteer to greet guests at a CVB event or schedule speakers for a Leadership Henry program day - or raise his hand for whatever need arises. Despite his active participation in these roles, it's the McHugh's quiet contributions that make them especially deserving of this award. They support veterans and law enforcement through several events that they organize each year. Every Thanksgiving, they close the restaurant so kids from the local children's shelter are treated to Thanksgiving lunch at 15th Street, prepared and served by the McHugh's and their family and friends. From socks to canned goods, it's rare that 15th Street is not a collection point for whatever community drive or initiative is happening. There are so many examples of how 15th Street and the McHughs give back to Henry County. They truly embody what it means to be a part of the business community.
