Automobile Registration
As a Georgia resident, you must register your cars, trucks, trailers, motorcycles and motor homes and apply for Georgia titles, when a Georgia title is required, within thirty-days (30) of establishing residency in this state.

For NEW RESIDENTS, you must have GA insurance and GA Drivers license before you can register your vehicle. You can pay your tag bill at several locations throughout the county. Visit the Tax Commissioner's office for additional information or contact 770-288-8150.

Driver's Licenses
New Georgia residents must apply for a Georgia driver's license within 30 days. All other licenses must be surrendered prior to issuance of a Georgia license. Persons 18 or over who surrender a valid out of state license will be required to successfully pass an eye examination.

If you surrender an expired out of state license, or if you are under the age of 18, you must successfully pass an eye examination, road rules test, road signs test and a driving test.

Animal Control
Henry County operates an Animal Control facility, which houses stray or surrendered animals. Animals are also available for adoption. If you have lost your pet, please visit the facility to see if it has been picked up. All pets are required to have current vaccinations. Animals must be provided with shelter and water at all times and properly fed. Leash laws apply to cats and dogs alike throughout Henry County.

Voter Registration
To vote, you must be 18 years old, a U.S. citizen, mentally sound and not under conviction of a felony. You must be registered for 30 days prior to an election to vote in that election. Proof of residency and positive identification are required at the time of registration.
