    Job Description

    The Henry County Chamber of Commerce (HCCC) and Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) are seeking a Digital Marketing Manager, whose primary duties will be to assist with the day to day digital marketing and management of both organizations, with a concentration in the Convention and Visitors Bureau.  The primary emphasis of the position will be the ongoing development and enhancement of the social media presence.  The Manager will assist in the development of the HCCC/CVB social media marketing strategy and will have the primary responsibility for implementation of the content strategy, brand awareness, generation of inbound traffic and cultivation of leads and conversions.  Duties will include cultivating the voice for all aspects of the CVB online presence, including writing, editing and proofreading website content as well as crafting site promotions, email newsletters and outreach campaigns.  The manager will also assist in a contact program for the HCCC members, to include emails, Facebook posts and scheduling of events.
     
    The position is a full time position. 
     
    Essential Duties:

     
    • Maintain VisitHenryCountyGeorgia.com and HenryCountyWeddings.com to ensure all listings are accurate, complete and up-to-date and that all content displays correctly in both desktop and mobile formats.  This will require working with content management software.
    • Communicate with web servicer to resolve any issues and to facilitate changes
    • Review analytical reports on a monthly basis to maximize functionality of sites
    • Recommend online strategies for boosting web traffic and SEO and developing new, engaging content designed to meet goals.
    • Participate in marketing and advertising strategy sessions with agencies and vendors to ascertain the success of campaigns and discuss alternative opportunities
    • Develop, write and edit blogs, as well as coordinating topics and deadlines with contracted bloggers
    • Keep current with emerging technologies through relevant blogs, listservs and events
    • Work with the Director of Tourism, partners and vendors to develop, write, edit and deploy a bi-monthly e-newsletter campaign for the CVB
    • Develop and implement a social media strategy for the CVB and assist the HCCC with a social media strategy
    • Respond to media requests and actively pitch story ideas about Henry County to travel writers and bloggers
    • Monitor online presence to track the success of campaigns
    • Coordinate with the Director of Tourism to ensure that all marketing messages for the CVB are appropriate and correctly integrate with other campaigns
    • Set up and work on-site marketing and promotional events
    • Coordinate with the HCCC Membership Director to develop and implement a social media campaign for member satisfaction and contact
    • Assist the HCCC Communications Director with the Chamber website and social media marketing
    • All other duties as assigned
     
    Required experience:

     
    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, Communications or a related field
    • Minimum three (3) years of experience developing and managing web and/or social media content
    • Demonstrated communication and organizational skills
    • Excellent writing and editing skills, including strong proof-reading abilities
    • Demonstrated competence in generating creative, engaging content and designing promotions and other short-term marketing vehicles for specific social platforms
    • Demonstrated knowledge of and understanding of social media platforms (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, etc.), their respective demographics and how to employ each platform for maximum effectiveness
    • Experience with web and social media analytics platforms, as well as social media management systems (such as Hootsuite) Strong Internet research skills and knowledge of social media legal guidelines
    • Project management experience, including the ability to undertake multiple projects simultaneously and deliver consistent positive results
    • Have strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with a small group
    • Must have a driver’s license and vehicle
     
    Preferred experience:

     
    • Two or more years’ experience in tourism, hospitality or Chamber of Commerce activities
    • Experience with maintenance of websites using a content management system
    • Experience and understanding of  basic SEO strategies
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Publisher, Photoshop or similar desktop publishing software
    • Knowledge of Henry County’s tourism market
    • Experience with photography and creating video content
    • Knowledge of digital marketing best practices and the interplay between textual and visual elements

    • Salary is commensurate with experience, educational background and demonstrated abilities of the candidate
