THE NEED

Henry County citizens, from the youngest to the oldest, spend time at Bear Creek Senior Activity Center in Hampton as it is a dual-use facility housing both a branch of Henry County Parks and Recreation and a branch of Henry County Senior Services.  Currently there is no permanent outside structure at Bear Creek, meaning that the spacious outdoor area is rarely used by those visiting; however, the need is undeniable, especially considering the sweltering temperatures of summer in Georgia. Below are just some of the statements from those that would be impacted by the new structure.

The Solution

The Leadership Henry Class of 2018 has committed to the funding and construction of a pavilion at Bear Creek Senior Activity Center.  Children attending summer camps will utilize the pavilion as an outdoor classroom, picnic area, and shaded space during the summer, while seniors will enjoy it as an all-accessible social gathering place on a daily basis. The pavilion will serve as the cornerstone of an outdoor courtyard to also consist of a flower garden, walking path, horticultural raised beds, and outdoor shuffleboard area. 
 

The Goal- $40,000

Sponsorship donations will be applied to the construction of the pavilion. Any additional funds will be used to further develop the courtyard area.
